"My job responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing and revising family incomes, supporting Family Support Service staff with coverage, providing tools and resources to Family Support Service Staff for home visits, training new Family Advocates. I chose to work at Head Start to gain better work opportunities. When I began working at Head Start, I started as a Bus Monitor. I figured as soon as I had my foot in the door, I would continue to work my way up. Considering I was still attending school and wanted to work in social work field. I am happy and thankful today to say I was able to work my way up and fulfill my goals. I am thankful for the great colleagues I work with. My favorite part of working in Head Start is the difference we are able to make in family's lives. Small or Large I am glad we are able to make an impact on those we serve. I am glad we continue to educate ourselves in order to provide quality services to our families in need."

"As a receptionist at Alamo Navajo Early Childhood Center, my responsibilities include managing office tasks, coordinating with staff, organizing data, and assisting with program operations. I chose Head Start because it provides an opportunity to support early childhood development in my community. My favorite part of working in Head Start is seeing the positive impact we have on children and families, and knowing I'm helping build a strong foundation for their future."
Mellisa Carney
ERSEA Manager
"I manage our Intake team of 3, for 5 Childcare sites. (I also manage 5 interpreters). I choose to work for CAP because they helped me when I was a single mom that needed guidance. My job over the 27 yrs. has changed many times. From homeless prevention to SNAP applications to Head Start enrollment. I think my favorite part is working for Head Start and being a part of the goals to help lift families out of poverty. (And seeing the children every day and being able to interact with them)"
Abigail David
Assistant Director
"As Assistant Director, my goal is to support my team in meeting the expectations of their roles to ensure school readiness and family engagement. Early Head Start is where all my ideals around education come together. I believe education start at birth, that a child's home is their first classroom, that parents are their child's first teachers, and that education is a collaborative effort. Making a difference is my favorite part, that moment when families share how they have completed their goals or what new things they are doing to support growth and learning because of a resource provided is truly rewarding."
